Sand dunes and fragile dune grasses glow from dramatic, late afternoon light before a storm hits Sleeping Bear Dune National Lakeshore. Established in 1970, the park encompasses 60 km of Lake Michigan's eastern coastline and North and South Manitou Islands. Visitors to Sleeping Bear will enjoy exploring sand dunes, beaches and forests.
