Chilean cowboys dress in traditional Adalusian hats on ponchos. The Hausos (cowboys) topped with flat-brimmed sombreros surround a ring northwest of Santiago to watch competition in the Rodeo InterAsociacional Marga-Marga. They compete in teams called colleras by running a cow out of a pen and pinning it, all while racing against the clock. Huasos wear capes are mantas over a small jacket and their large silver spurs fit into carved wooden stirrups
