Families work at sunrise to pick flowers for Day of the Dead celebration. The pickers harvest zempazuchitl and other flowers for 8 pesos for a Maleta. The woman picker works with her grandson, one of 25 grandchildren.  She sells snow cones and fried snacks in Atlixco in other seasons. <br />
Atlixco is the flower capital of Mexico; roses and gladiolas are exported throughout the world from this Puebla State. Fields are full of yellow and red flowers picked to decorate alters and graves.
