Surreal Art of Las Pozas

Back to Search Results

Scuptured hands line the entry way walk to Las Pozas, the ruins of a home built by Sir Edward James who lived in this remote area from 1950-1980. The grandson of King Edward VII of England, the surrealist artist created a mixture of architecturally interesting rooms and vistas connecting the inside and outside jungle and meandering to a waterfall. The jungle began reclaiming this odd ruin when he died in 1984.
