Body Paint on Man's Legs

Body paint around legs of man getting ready for a Cleansing ceremony on Tiwi Islands. Body paint seems to be primarily decorative instead of storytelling. <br />
Culture is more intact because the island is removed from modern western culture. A cleansing ceremony is the final ceremony in the death of a family member. A year or so after the funeral the family gets together and paints pukamani poles and places them around the grave.
