Spirited Cowgirl Portrait

Dugout herd owner Heidi Redd runs about 700 head of cattle on public land near Moab, Utah. Redd is a tough, no-nonsense rancher who oversees the operation and and works with other cowboys when they are branding calves. Many Western ranchers depend heavily on BLM allotments, where grazing fees remain far lower than on state or private lands.
