Canyon of the Ancients

« Back to Travel North America

Thousand-year-old Lowry Pueblo grew with the fortunes of the Ancestral Puebloans at the Canyon of the Ancients National Monument. Anasazi people built kivas, cliff dwellings, and shrines leaving a high density of archeology sites in the Four Corners area. The restored pueblo is a small structure with few rooms, the living space expanded over some 165 years into a 40-room masonry landmark in Colorado.
