St Bernard dogs spend two months in this town because the high mountains are closed because of avalanches.  These are the famous monastery rescue dogs that were supposed to be retired but a foundation moved in to save them...  However, they are in these cages for the two months and then they are a tourist attraction the rest of the year.  They serve no rescue purpose in an age of GPS, helicopters etc.  Also overviews of town.
