Volcanic Formation In Siskiyou Mountains

Pilot Rock a plug of volcanic basalt juts 400 feet above Cascade Siskiyou National Monument, a crossroads of mountain ranges, geological eras, and habitats in southern Oregon. The 65,000 acre monument is at the junction of the Oregon and Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains with Mt. shasta rising in the far distance, across the state line in California.
