Australia's Monsoonal North-Wet Down Under, November 2004 National Geographic Magazine

Anticipation of the monsoon rains in Australia are felt in the heat and humidity that builds each day. The Wet, as it is known, is associated with landscapes of lightning followed by storms and then mud. It is life to the people and the animals that live in the North. Saltwater crocodiles are part of the culture. Aboriginals preceeded white civilization with it's cattle ranches and tourism in this vast, flat land.
